What Wayease collects when you place an order, how your documents are handled, and how long we keep them.
This page is a draft, not yet in force
We collect only what an order requires:
Your information is used to produce, certify, and deliver your translation; to communicate with you about your order; to process payment; and to provide support if you contact us. We do not sell your information, and we do not use the content of your documents for anything beyond completing your order.
Your document is visible to the translator assigned to your order and to our team members who check, certify and deliver it, and to the staff involved in producing, certifying, or delivering your translation. Translators handling sensitive filings — asylum and humanitarian cases, for example — are expected to treat every assignment as confidential by default. We do not share your documents with any other customer, or with any third party outside what is needed to fulfill your order, without telling you first.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Wayease never receives, sees, or stores your full card number, expiry date, or security code — that information goes directly to Stripe, which maintains its own security and compliance standards for handling it. What we retain on our side is limited to order and transaction records: the amount charged, the date, and a reference we can use if you contact us about a payment.
We keep the documents you upload and the signed PDF we deliver for 90 days after your order is delivered (or after it is cancelled), so you can download it again and ask for a free change; then they are deleted automatically. You can delete them sooner at any time with “Delete my files now” on your order page. Either way the order record stays: its number, languages, price, receipt and messages, which we keep as business records. Until the files are deleted, your order page shows the date they are kept until. For anything else you would like deleted, or to know what we hold on your order, contact us and we will act on the request.
You can ask us at any time to see what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, subject to what we need to keep for legitimate business records (like proof a payment was made). Reach us through the contact page for any of these requests.
We take reasonable, standard precautions to protect the information and documents you send us — including limiting who can access an order’s files to the people working on it. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and we will tell you directly if we become aware of an incident affecting your information.
Because this page is a draft (see the notice above), it is expected to change before it is finalized. Once this policy is in force, we will note the date it last changed here.
